Valve has given gamers an exciting surprise with the introduction of Steam Deck OLED, a special version of the Steam Deck portable gaming PC. This new model is equipped with OLED display technology, offering a more impressive visual experience.
Valve wowed gamers when it released the 2021 model of the Steam Deck. However, in response to user demand, the Steam Deck OLED is equipped with an OLED panel instead of an LCD screen. This allows users to enjoy games with higher brightness, HDR, and support for up to 1,000 nits. It also offers a 7.4-inch screen compared to the standard 7-inch model, providing a larger viewing area.
The revamped Steam Deck is also notable for one other detail: increased battery life. Valve claims that this new model will offer 30 to 50 percent longer battery times than its predecessor. This is achieved with a larger 50 Whr battery, an efficient AMD APU, and a more power-efficient OLED display.
Steam Deck OLED will be available on November 16th. The 512 GB storage version will be available for $549/€569, while the 1 TB storage version will be available for $649/€679. In addition, the price of the 256 GB LCD version has been reduced to $399/€419 and will continue to be sold as entry-level. The 64 GB and 512 GB LCD models will be phased out in the future. Updated features such as Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 are not forgotten. The rest of the technical specifications will remain the same as the standard model. There is no doubt that a new era has begun in the gaming world with Steam Deck OLED.
